CIRの活動

Center for Information on Religion (hereafter CIR) launched a seminar for the Study of Japanese Culture and Religion in Japanese for non-Japanese-native graduate students.  The seminar calls for the papers of the well-motivated students who hope presentation and discussion with other participants in Japanese. 

Accepted attendants will be paid for a round-trip ticket (Economy, JPY 200 thousands in maximum), and Housing during the seminar will be served by CIR as well.

We CIR will invite 6 students in maximum among all the non-Japanese-native graduate student applicants who belong to the university or institution outside Japan for the study of Japanese Culture and Religion. We intend to encourage networking and inspiring discussions beyond language barrier among young scholars and experts in Japan.

Presentation and discussion should be in Japanese though we accept additional explanation in English.  The attendants are required to join all the sessions of one and a half days seminar, to demonstrate their paper in Japanese, and to contribute to the discussion to the presentation of others in Japanese.

[Application]
The applicant should submit the filled application form with abstract both English (200-300 words) and Japanese (600-900 characters) until March 15 2017 as attachment to the e-mail to Dr. Kenta Kasai [letter@circam.jp]. The title of the e-mail should include a tag as “[CIR Seminar 2017 Application]”, and the Application document should be named as "CIRseminar2017_YOURNAME_Application.docx".  CIR will notice to all the applicants the result of the selection in the first week of the April.

[preparation of the attendant]
The attendants are required to submit the paper (either in Japanese or in English) as e-mail attachment until May 15th, 2017 to be distributed for the commentator in advance. We may decline if the paper would not arrive until the deadline. Each Attendants have 45 minutes for presentation and another 45 minutes for discussion. The Paper should be in any format in 5000 words (English) or 10000 characters (Japanese) in maximum.  It will be used for discussion and published in pdf at the website of CIR as a record of the seminar.

　このたび宗教情報センター（以下CIR）では、日本宗教・日本文化研究専攻の大学院生（日本語を母語としない）を対象として、日本語によるセミナーを開催することとなりました。日本語での研究発表を希望し、その他の参加者との討議にも積極的に加わる意欲をもった大学院生を募集します。

　研究発表を希望される方は、以下の要項にしたがって、奮ってご応募ください。

　日本以外の大学において日本宗教・日本文化にかかわる研究を行なっている、日本語を母語としない大学院生であることが条件です。応募者のなかから6名を上限に本セミナーに招聘します。航空券代実費（上限あり）およびセミナー中の宿泊を提供します。

　当日の発表は、日本語で行ない、議論は原則として日本語としますが、一部、英語の使用も認めます。参加者には、全日程を通して参加することと、自身の発表（日本語）のほか、他人の発表についての日本語での議論に積極的に参加することが期待されます。
